Organon starts Production Control System implementation project in Brazil
Jun/2007

Organon is present in Brazil since 1940. It has been one of the most innovative pharmaceuticals industries in the country.

In 1969, aiming to unite efforts, Organon fused with Aku, Koninklijke & Zout, and became to be refer to as Akzo.

In 1994, when the acquisition of the Nobel Industries occurred, the Akzo Nobel has been born. The group counts nowadays on 160 companies all around the world, and about 67.900 employees.

The adopted industrial processes in Holland are also followed by its branches around the globe. Therefore the products made in Brazil are exported to other markets.

This month Organon of Brazil began the project in partnership with Active for the implementation of the SCP - Production Control System, which aims to make the conference of the materials and process records during the production stages, through Pocket PCs and/or computers connected to bar code readers.

The gain benefits with the new system are:

• Automatic Checking of status and expiration date for all batches and materials in use;

• Complete integration with the Weighing System (SIP) for identification of batches in use at the dispensing, in order to make the check and conference of these raw materials during production;

• Electronic Monitoring and online status of work orders in process (through Web Interface);

• Record of finished goods and work shift at the ERP;

• Identification of in-process and semi-finished goods at all stages of the process;

• Process detailed traceability (materials, batches, equipments, rooms, supervisors and chronology);

• Clean up control for rooms and equipments;

The Go-live is set for November 2007. Once again, Active develops one more project, this time in partnership with Organon.
