Cristália enters in the dysfunction market
Before the end of this year the Brazilian Cristália Produtos Químicos
Farmacêuticos should enter into the list of the few pharmaceutical
industries that dispute the billionaire market of Phosphodiesterase-5
(PDE-5) selective inhibitors, therapeutic class of the most modern drugs
for sexual impotence. Cristália’s drug, Lodenafil, in advanced
phase of research, has just gained an important endorsement to reach the
market: the granting of the patent request in the biggest consumer market,
the United States.
The company’s president, Ogari Pacheco, said that the United States
patent examining body issued the "Notice of Allowance". "We
passed through all the phases of the tests. Now we are with our molecule
protected and we are the fourth company having an active substance in
this market”. In addition to the United States, Cristália
is awaiting the recognition of Lodenafil’s patent in more 44 countries,
including Brazil.
