Active prepares a new expansion abroad with
two branches
Active is located at Santo André, and realized that the future
is abroad. A company that acts in the area of high precision automation
for pharmaceutical industries plans to open two more branches abroad with
investments up to US$ 300 thousand (around R$900 thousand) in the next
three years. The first experience outside Brazil, a branch in Mexico organized
in June last year, has been a success that required the application of
US$70 thousand (R$210 thousand).
The new branches – probably in Spain and in United States - must
double the quantity of employees, totaling 30 employees in Santo André.
The new employments will be carried out for the head office of Grande
ABC, since the objective is to centralize the development and product’s
improvement in Brazil. The new branches will be points of sales for the
product and the company will also count on some specialized professionals
for implementing the software Active Accurate, aiming at meeting the productive
processes of the pharmaceutical industry.
It is certain that the place chosen for the company’s branch in
Europe is Madrid, in Spain, due to the great concentration of pharmaceutical
industries in the Spanish capital. Active should disembark in the European
continent in the first semester of 2006. “We intend to act only
in Spain in the first 18 months to acquire profitability. And then we
are aiming to expand our businesses in other European countries”,
affirms Marcio Moreti, commercial CEO of Active Sistemas de Automação,
a company established in 1995.
The next step will be to enter in the giant North American market in the
end of 2007 or beginning of 2008 and to conquer initially 3% of market
share. In order to have an idea about the grandeur of the pharmaceutical
industry in the United States, data of January, 2005, of IMS Health institute
show that the yielded just in the American territory US$175.3 billions
in the last twelve months against US$87 billions in Europe (being US$10.3
billions in Spain), US$13.4 billions in Latin America countries. In Brazil,
the pharmaceutical market yielded US$5.1 billions in the last twelve months.
Last year, Active established the first branch abroad in Mexico, whose
pharmaceutical industry yielded US$6.5 billions in the last twelve months.
On this account, the turnover in the last year increased 38 % versus 2003.
Due to the good results, Active estimate to invest R$500 thousand in the
continuous improvement of product against R$ 400 thousand in 2004 and
it predicts to grow at least 20%, aiming to the businesses in the Mexican
country.
